Highland Council has revealed that a popular piece of play item at an Aviemore park has been repaired and is now back in use.

The multi-play unit at Morlich Court was cordoned off just before Christmas because of safety concerns.

The timber feet of the large play structure were starting to rot and as a result the climbing frame posed a danger to users.

They have now been reinforced with new wooden supports to strengthen the existing pillars.

A council spokeswoman said : "This play item in Aviemore is now repaired and reopened.

"The cost of materials was around £400 plus operatives' time to carry out repairs.

"The work was delayed due to the weather over Christmas and has involved replacing all the feet of the unit."
