Notices have been put on the pumps at the strath's busiest filling station warning of the reduced hours.

Badenoch and Strathspey has been left without a 24-hour petrol filling station for the foreseeable future.

The BP garage on Grampian Road in Aviemore has reduced its operating hours from 6.30am to 9.30pm.

The company has said that the situation is out of their control due to staff shortages and essential maintenance.

The facility has been the only round the clock petrol filling station in the strath.

Signs warning motorists of the reduced hours in Aviemore have appeared on the pumps.

The message states: "This store will be closed from 9.30pm each night from now on.

"There will be no night opening until further notice.

"The store will reopen at 6am each morning.

"We apologies for this but it is out of our control due to staff shortages and essential maintenance."
