Appeal to identify the mystery folk on visits to Laggan

The keeper of the Laggan community's photograph archive is appealing for Strathy Picture Detectives to help her fill the missing blanks for three photographs.

Sally Spencer explained: "I keep the Laggan Heritage Archive, and for years I have been trying to find the names of the men in these photographs, so far without success, so I wondered if any of your readers might be able to help.

"We think at least some of them are members of the Highland and Islands Development Board (HIDB), and someone thought that the man with specs, in the centre of the group looking at the medical equipment, was Fraser Morrison, chairman of HIDB at some time, but is he, and who are all the others? What was the event?

"There are two other photographs that we also need assistance with. One was taken at the opening of the new village hall, but when? I think it must have been in the 1950s or 1960s. We know who the two women are, but not the men.

"If any of your readers can give names, and possible dates, for any of these men and the events that were the reasons for their attendance here, Laggan Heritage, and I in particular, would be very grateful."
