Wins for both Badenoch United and Aviemore Thistle in welfare league
Badenoch United still lead the way in the David Ritchie & Sons Ltd league following the latest games on Monday and Wednesday last week.
Aviemore Thistle 8-0 Cromdale
The Jags surprisingly overpowered Cromdale in their dress rehearsal for Friday’s Caldwell Cup Final.
The form book did not see such an emphatic result as this coming.
Thistle took the game by the scruff of the neck right from the whistle and had Dale straight onto the back foot.

Striker Rory Mackinnon would stamp his name all over this match but the opening credit fell to Kane Davies who round-off a neat bit of play after only two minutes to open the scoring.
Craig MacLeod tapped-in goal number two in the 17th minute.
Cromdale were rattled and found themselves under continued pressure from the hosts.
Mackinnon got his first goal of the night just before the half-hour mark and this was quickly followed by Davies nabbing a brace.
Mackinnon then struck again five minutes from the interval to give the Jags a very healthy five goal advantage.
There was no stopping the rampant Thistle, and just after the hour David Robertson found Ross Peters at the back post, and he drilled home.
Dale were by now a well beaten side, and Mackinnon converted twice more in quick succession to make sure of the points with room to spare.
FC Abernethy 2-4 Badenoch Utd
Fresh from the Highland Cup success, United maintained their six point lead over Thistle however they have played one game more.
Badenoch were sharp from the first whistle, winning every ball, and applying pressure to Nethy’s rear guard.
Finlay McBain played through Rory Mackinnon who drilled the ball across the six-yard box for Dougal Cameron to tap home after only three minutes.
The same link-up struck again just three minutes later with McBain finding Mackinnon out wide, and his drilled cross found Cameron for another tap-in.
Nethy so very nearly pulled one back when Jules Orsi ran onto a through ball but was magnificently denied by United stopper Callum Liggertwood and Charlie Taylor gleefully hoofed the ball to safety.
But this was merely a short relief for the hosts as United found the net for the third time shortly before the interval.
Taylor whipped over a wicked corner to the back post where Oliver Walker was waiting to nod home.
This could easily have been game over, however, Abernethy thought otherwise as they returned from the break in full assault mode, and they created a series of good chances.
Matt Reynolds could not quite take a through ball in his stride to give himself a one on one with the keeper, and twice an Abernethy were close to connecting with Rob Stewart freekicks.
Eventually the goal they deserved came, and what a goal it was.
Liggertwood was forced off his line to clean up a dangerous through ball but his clearance fell to Ian Wraight 35 yards from goal.
With cries of ‘time’ ringing in his ears, Wraight took matters into his own hands and smashed an outside of the foot volley into the top corner.
The goal reinvigorated Nethy and just a few minutes later they pulled another one back.
Alex Starace played a beautiful ball over the top of the defence and Matt Brown was onto it in a flash.
He showed great calmness to take a touch round the keeper and pass the ball into the net.
The hosts now sensed the game was there for the taking and continued to push forward but could not find the equaliser.
Then, in the dying moments, Badenoch broke forward and won a free kick in the middle of their own half.
Antonio Burnett whipped it into the box, and Walker got a flick on before Cameron got the last touch to guide it goalwards for his hat-trick.
