Some stuffy defending and excellent goalkeeping from Lee Dunbar kept this encounter scoreless in the first half but Cameron McNiven made the breakthrough on 64 minutes.

Euan Dingwall cut the ball back to Struan Ross and his low, spinning strike was saved by keeper Dunbar but Robinson turned home the rebound.

‘More manager Peter Ross said: “I’m happier after that and I thought we relaxed and played some good shinty after scoring the first goal.

“Joe Coyle was also very good whilst Cameron McNiven held the ball up well at full forward.

“Daniel Sloss was exceptional in defence, and I’m pleased with Struan Ross too.”

Newtonmore are without a fixture Saturday.
