Police Scotland have confirmed that a 23 year old man sustained fatal injuries as a result of the road accident which occurred on the A9 about one mile south of the Granish junction near Aviemore earlier today.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said that further information will be released when available.

He added: "The A9 remains closed at this location in order to allow for collision investigation work to be carried out. Diversions remain in place with traffic being diverted through Aviemore."
