Ladies Day success
FASHION and fancy frocks were the order of the evening at a charity ladies’ night at RAF Kinloss, which raised more than £1,700 for Breast Cancer Care.
Held at the warrant officers’ and sergeants’ mess, the event was organised by Sergeant Caroline Burns (37) and Flight Sergeant Wendy Williams (41).
Sergeant Burns said: "‘There are many of us here at RAF Kinloss who have been, or are currently affected by cancer, and we wanted to do our bit to support the charity in developing a cure and for the support in administering treatment to patients.
"We have been really chuffed at the success of this event, and hopefully we’ll get the chance to organise another event soon. Not only did the ladies enjoy a fabulous night out but in the process we raised £1,117 for Breast Cancer Care."
Following champagne cocktails on arrival, the ladies were treated to an extensive sit down buffet provided by the staff of the warrant officers’ and sergeants’ mess, while at the same time listening to local singer Jason Porter.
Before the fashion show, which was the main event of the night, the ladies were able to shop at their leisure by perusing the many stalls that sold a wide variety of beauty products, accessories, dresses, health and wellbeing treatments.
The Fashion Show was opened by Julie Johnston, the wife of RAF Kinloss Station Commander James Johnston, who highlighted the importance of raising awareness and supporting charities in their excellent work.
During the fashion show, a variety of dresses ranging from ball gowns, evening dresses and prom dresses were displayed along the catwalk. The evening ended with a raffle and disco.
