Murder probe family speak of tragedy

THE family of alleged Inverness murder victim Andrew Fraser has thanked emergency services who fought to save his life.

Andrew (30) sustained fatal injuries in an incident at his home on Rosehaugh Road on Monday. He died in Raigmore Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

His brother has been charged with his murder.

Gary Fraser (31), who is from the Merkinch area of the city, appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday afternoon.

He appeared on petition in private in court where he made no plea or declaration. He was remanded in custody for further examination.

The family has released the following statement: "We, the family of Andrew David Fraser, are devastated by the loss of our popular and lovable son, brother and uncle.

"He will be sadly missed by his family and all those who knew him."

The family also wished to express their thanks to emergency services and staff at at the Intensive Care Unit at Raigmore Hospital for the help and treatment given to Andrew.
