Woman caused fracas at New Craigs hospital

By SPP Reporter

AN Ardersier woman who swore at staff and patients and behaved in a threatening and abusive manner at New Craigs hospital and wilfully and recklessly damaged a door by pushing it off its hinges appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court today (Tuesday).

Sentence had been deferred at a previous hearing for Gemma Robertson (25) of Nairn Road to undergo a drug testing order.

She admitted committing the offences at the hospital on March 15.

Her solicitor Neil Wilson told Sheriff Ian Abercrombie the social work report before the court indicated that she was looking better and the social worker said it was the best she had ever seen her. He said he shared that opinion.

Sheriff Abercrombie said he would impose a community payback order and, bearing in mind she had already spent some time in custody, he would restrict that to 50 hours.

“I hope you will do that,” he told Robertson.
