Romanians in court on Tesco cash point charge

FIVE Romanian men have appeared in following the discovery at the weekend of a card skimming device fitted to a bank machine at an Inverness supermarket

It was found on Saturday at the Tesco supermarket at Inshes.

The men, all from Slough in Berkshire, appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, charged with attaching a bank reading device to cash points at Tesco and attempting to steal unknown sums of money.

They were named as Silviu Maemtu (22), Georghe Bodea (33), Florin Pop (26), Alexander Anton (22) and Ioan Solomon (36). They made no plea and were remanded in custody.

Police are urging cash machine customers in the city to be vigilant when using cash points.
