Man arrested over Inverness assault

POLICE have arrested and charged a 30-year-old man in connection with an alleged assault on a man in Brown Street.

The incident happened at 12.30am on Monday when two men in dark clothing entered a house in Brown Street in Inverness.

The man was allegedly assaulted and a three figure sum of money was stolen.

The victim was taken to Raigmore Hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

The man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal and is expected to appear at Inverness sheriff court tomorrow.

Police are still looking for a man in his early 20s, about 6ft tall with long brown hair, in connection with the incident.

He was wearing dark blue jogging trousers and a top.
