Flights are returning to normal service at Inverness Airport

Flights in and out of Inverness Airport have resumed after major disruption caused by the drifting ash cloud.

However, there may be some delays due to the knock-on effects of cancelled services on Tuesday.

All flights have so far departed Inverness Airport as normal.

The disruption follows the eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland which began on Saturday evening.

Other Scottish airports are also returning to normal service.

The Met Office said ash might return to affect much of the country on Friday.

Passengers should contact their airline for further information,.
