POLICE are warning members of the public to be aware of the Met Office forecast for high winds across the North throughout today (Monday, May 23).

Motorists should be wary of items being blown onto the roads and of sudden gusts of wind in exposed areas, as well as high-sided vehicles and cyclists who may be particularly affected by the wind.
