Power cut hits homes in the Inverness area

By SPP Reporter

THOUSANDS of homes in the Inverness area were without power on Monday evening after strong winds battered the region.

Properties in Inverness, the Black Isle, Beauly, Kiltarlity, Drumnadrochit, Muir of Ord, Dingwall and Nairn were among those affected from 7pm.

Power was restored to most just before 8pm.

Homes across the north of Scotland including the islands were also hit.

Police had earlier issued a warning to members of the public to take care as high winds swept across the region.

Information on the conditions of roads throughout the area can be obtained from the Traffic Scotland Helpline 0800 028 1414 or www.trafficscotland.org.
