Highland Heroes 2025 – nominate your secondary school teachers
Secondary school teachers take on a huge responsibility as they prepare our young adults for life after school, whether that is on to higher or further education or the workplace.
Highland Heroes celebrates these inspirational educators with the secondary school teacher award.
NOMINATE your Highland Heroes 2025 by midnight on Sunday, December 15.
The winner will be a teacher who has made a significant difference, beyond the normal expectations, to the learning experience of their pupils or found innovative ways to teach that helps pupils enjoy it and be successful.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland is sponsoring the 2025 award.

“We saw last year the incredible amount of extracurricular efforts that secondary teachers put in to support young adults in Inverness and the surrounding Highlands, and so we’re delighted to support the Highland Heroes again. We strongly encourage readers to nominate their local Heroes so we can raise awareness of those who are truly deserving of such recognition.”

Once all of your nominations have been submitted, our judges will whittle down the entries to create a shortlist and you will be invited to vote for your winners.
All of the finalists, sponsors and guests will be invited to the awards ceremony at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on Friday, March 14, 2025 where the winners will be revealed!
In addition to the main categories, there is also a very special award presented on the night.
A hero of heroes will be chosen by the judges from among all of your winners.
