John and Mary Garrity at riverside Aviemore Inn posted today to its many friends and customers: "It is with great sadness and disappointment that we unfortunately have to announce that The Aviemore Inn will temporarily cease trading from 8pm on Sunday, October 11."

Mr Garrity added: "We would hope that anyone who has visited during this awful time for us all will appreciate the measures Mary and I have taken and implemented in order to keep us all safe.

"This decision has not been easy for us to make, in fact it is heart breaking in many ways.

"However, given the restrictions placed upon us and 'our industry' by the Government, means we as a business going forward have become unviable.

"We would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of our local community for their constant and continued support and we hope to be able to provide you with The Aviemore Inn welcome sometime in the near future with Aviemore Holiday Park.

"Stay safe chaps.

"All the very best, John & Mary :) x."

Tough new restrictions are coming in – and being updated almost daily now – as the Covid-19 infection rate continues to grow.
