Fire service quick to Kingussie's Duke of Gordon Hotel





Management at Badenoch's biggest hotel have told the Strathy all is well after a fire alert this morning.

At one point three appliances were on the scene at the Duke of Gordon, including one height appliance sent from Inverness in case it was needed to gain access from above the roof of the building.

Two other crews were sent from Aviemore and the local Kingussie station after the alarm went up just after 7.30 this morning over a chimney fire.

A spokesperson at the hotel confirmed the fire was quickly under control and evacuated guests were all back in the building.

The all clear was given by 9.30 and the guests all safely back into their rooms by 9.45am.
