Crashes close A9 at each end of the strath





Traffic Scotland confirm that there are A9 closures now at both the north and south ends of the Badenoch and Strathspey stretch.

Observers are talking about smoke appearing over the road at the Slochd Summit towards Carrbridge.

Minutes ago all lanes on the road was closed in both north and southbound directions.

Highland & Islands Police Division confirm: "Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road crash on the A9 near its junction with A938 south of Carrbridge.

"Motorists are advised to use an alternative route. Police were called around 11.40am today."

Meanwhile there is also an incident blocking traffic on the A889/A9 Dalwhinnie at the railway bridge.

All northbound and southbound lanes are currently closed.
