Highland capital gig for pop music star Olly Murs is cancelled
Pop music star Olly Murs has cancelled his summer tour, which includes a gig in Inverness.
The X Factor competitor was due to headline a concert at Northern Meeting Park on August 13.
It has been cancelled because Murs will be recovering from knee surgery. He said: “I am absolutely gutted to have to cancel my summer tour this year, but unfortunately I’ve had to have new major knee surgery. I’m devastated I won’t be performing these shows, and can only apologise for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured I will be fighting fit for new music later this year!”
The event was part of the Live in the City series run by LCC Live.
Organisers made the announcement on social media this evening: "It promised to be one of the highlights of the summer, but unfortunately Olly Murs has been forced to cancel his summer UK tour due to unavoidable knee surgery.
"The successful operation took place yesterday with Olly now having to spend the next six months in rehab for his knee.
"Refunds will be available from your point of purchase, and please keep an eye out for any emails from your ticketing agent. If you have bought tickets from Cafferys Designerwear Eastgate in person, please return them directly for a refund.
"Get well soon Olly!"
