Cairngorm Mountain 'fully booked'
Cairngorm Mountain have posted that there has been around 6cm of fresh wet snow at the Base Station overnight.
In a 8am conditions report a spokesperson confirmed: "At the moment it's a bit gusty with westerly winds 30 to 45 mph. Drifting snow at times at the base of the mountain.
"The forecast today is snow showers with bright spells by mid day. Good visibility out of the heavier snow showers.
"Winds between 30 and 45mph west south westerly at the base of the mountain and around 60 to 70 mph on the summit."
The temperature was -2C at the base with snow said to be easing in the afternoon. The learners zone opened at 9am but the hill, the spokesperson said, was fully booked today for snowsports "on the limited area we have available at the moment.
"Unfortunately still not much new snow at the moment but there is snow forecast above the base of the mountain so hopefully it can start to build during the next week."
The road above the forest was seeing a lot of surface water below.
