More snow fell this afternoon across Badenoch and Strathspey as winter’s grip prevailed
Temperatures fell again in Badenoch and Strathspey and snow has fallen in parts of the area during today.
The Highland Council’s road conditions report issued at 6.30am confirmed negative temperatures and ice across the network.
“Primary and Secondary routes are being treated along with footpaths. Other routes to be treated once resources allow. No known overnight issues.”
On surrounding Inverness routes the main roads were salty damp, with patchy grey frost on some side roads.
Gritters headed out to treat all routes.
On the Nairn side negative temperatures and ice prevailed across the network.

No schools in Highland were closed today due to the weather.
