Badaguish has been given a time extension for wigwams at temporary site

Ten "temporary" wigwams at Badaguish Outdoor Centre by Glenmore have been given another reprieve. They were initially due to be relocated in 2013.

Members of the Cairngorms National Park Authority’s planning committee backed a recommendation at their latest meeting to allow the continued siting of the accommodation. Two time extensions have previously been allowed.

Last year the committee approved a one year time extension "to ensure progression of the main site where the wigwams are to be relocated to."

The owners Speyside Trust have said it could be a further three years before the 10 wigwams can be moved to the larger site which they say is not yet ready.

Park member Dave Fallows, Highland councillor for Badenoch and Strtahspey, said there was no legitimate planning reason to refuse the application - though progress monitoring over the three year period will be provided to the CNPA.
